Warmth
Every encounter should feel welcoming, kind and human.
About the charity
The Living Memory Project was created to bring meaningful, memory-based activities to older people—especially those living with dementia.
Our beginning
We believe that history is not only something written in books. It lives in songs, sayings, places, celebrations and everyday experiences. When these are shared with warmth and curiosity, they can open conversations and help people feel seen.
We are at the beginning of our journey. Our foundations are in place, and we are building the network of presenters, volunteers, care settings, hospitals, partners and supporters who can help turn the idea into a lasting programme across England.
What guides us
Every encounter should feel welcoming, kind and human.
People are treated as individuals, with respect for their choices and experiences.
We invite stories without testing memory or putting anyone under pressure.
We focus on moments that support joy, belonging and connection.
Trust and transparency
As a registered charity, we are committed to sound governance, safeguarding, privacy and clear communication. Our public information will grow as the charity develops.
